HPCL fuel outlet inaugurated in Mokokchung

Mokokchung, Sep. 13 (EMN): A fuel refilling station called HSF&MS MARCOFED retail outlet under Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) was inaugurated at Arkong Ward in Mokokchung town on September 13.
Nagaland State Co-operative Marketing and Consumers’ Federation Limited, popularly known as MARCOFED, is an apex level co-operative institution for marketing of agricultural produces and distribution of essential commodities in the state, which was established in 1968 by the state government.
While highlighting the objectives of MARCOFED, which was aimed at promoting markets, the chairman Dr. M Chuba Ao stated that they have made an agreement with the oil marketing company including HPCL, Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOC) and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPC).
He announced that MARCOFED has targeted to set-up 39 retail fuel stations in the state. He informed that nine refilling stations including five HPCL, three IOC and one BPC (1) have been commissioned under MARCOFED.
He added that nearly 20 fuel retail stations are under construction and few are about to be commissioned soon.
‘For Mokokchung, we have decided to go with HPCL, after an agreement has been inked with the landowner and will be run under the name MARCOFED Mokokchung,’ Dr. Chuba informed.
In order make MARCOFED into a brand, he assured that they would not compromise on fuel quality as well as with the quantity. He further assured that there would be no adulteration/ dilution in fuel adding that accurate measurement of fuel with proper check on fuel density would be strictly implemented.
Regarding liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), Dr. Chuba stated that in India three companies operating in the sectors namely HP Gas, Indane a subsidiary of IOC, and Bharat Gas.
According to him, IOC is mostly doing the marketing in Nagaland, while Bharat Gas has hardly penetrated in the market. He added that HP Gas is yet to enter the market.
One landowner, Imtimar Jamir, disclosed that the land has been leased for 40 years with a belief that public could get easy accessibility to refill in the town area since most of the refilling stations are set-up in the remote area of Mokokchung town.
Short speeches were also delivered by Nungshilepten Jamir, chairman of Ungma village council; A Bendang Jamir, chairman of Arkong Ward Authority; and Temjensangba Longkumer, chairman of Mongsenbai Ward Authority. All the speakers have assured support and cooperation against illegal extortion and anti-social elements. They have further urged the company to provide quality service to the public.
