HPC, NSF on DNSU issue resolves

Dimapur, July 28 (EMN): The High Power Committee, NSF on Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) issue’ has unanimously resolved to replace the existing system of election by nomination system to ensure quality leadership and consensus in selecting students’ leader to be ‘Executive members of the DNSU’.
Informing this in a press release, the HPC, NSF Convener, K Temjen Jamir and ‘Member Secretary’, V Pushika Aomi, stated that the ‘committee’ held a meeting on

July 28 at the DNSU office and that unanimously decided to replace the existing system of election by nomination system.
It stated that ‘consequent upon the amendments of the DNSU constitution’, the meeting ‘empowered the High Power committee constituted by the Naga Students’

Federation (NSF) to act as the nominating committee’ to search and nominate rightful persons to be executive members of the DNSU’ as per the amended constitutional provisions in conformity with the terms of reference laid down by the NSF to restore the DNSU office at the earliest.

“Consequently, the meeting unanimously amended the Union constitution in matters relating to formation of Union assembly, executive committee and memberships in the DNSU which will come into immediate effect,” the release stated.

Meanwhile, the release stated that the HPC, NSF members present in the meeting observed a two minute silence prayer as a mark of respect to the departed soul of Late Rovizokho Nagi, former president of Dimapur Naga Students’ Union who passed away on July 23 at Vadima village, Dimapur.
