Horticulture dept. organises seminar on drip irrigation

Dimapur, Oct. 20 (EMN): District Horticulture Office, Tuensang organised a three-day seminar programme for stakeholders on the theme “per drop, more crops” under Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY).

An update from DIPR informed that it was organised from October 18 to the 20th at CKS Hall, Tuensang. It said that the resource person deliberated on the importance of drip irrigation and how it works. He pointed out that it is the most efficient water and nutrient delivery system for growing crops and that installing a drip irrigation system would not only save water but save time and money. He further encouraged the farmers to work hard and make better use of the available resources provided by the department as the system would help the farmers to produce higher yields while saving water as well as fertilisers, energy and crop protection products.

It stated that the programme was led by Horticulture Inspector, Chemlila Sangtam. Meanwhile, Horticulture Inspector, C Yongkonglimba welcomed the participants and highlighted the importance of the programme. Topong Chang, Technical consultant, M/s Solar Nation Dimapur was the resource person during the technical sessions.

The programme was attended by beneficiaries from various villages under PMKSY.
