Dimapur, June 13 (EMN): Advisor for Horticulture Mhathung Yanthan visited vegetable village, Longkhum June 13.
According to the department, the project at Longkhum village was started in 2006 which falls under Ritu Vegetable project Longkhum and is a multi-cropping project which is being managed by eighty five registered families under the project.
The advisor after inspecting the project had interactions with farmers where the policies of the department as well as the problems of the farmers were discussed.
During the meeting farmers submitted a representation to the department seeking the urgent requirement for the development of the project.
Expressing satisfaction towards the farmers, Yanthan encouraged them to keep up their hardworking attitude and also assured to extend all possible help from his end. Earlier during the day he also paid a visit to the Centre of Excellence (COE) Farm at Yisemyong.
On June 12, the advisor visited Longnak Canning Factory, Progeny Orchard Farm (NEC) and Longnak and Tuli Hi-tech Vegetables Setting unit at Tuli, which is being developed by the department.
The legislator was accompanied by secretary horticulture, department director, deputy director, and other officials from the district.
