KOHIMA — In a bid to promote tourism sector in the state, the deputy director of Industries and Commerce, Keneirienuo K Theunuo, on Saturday inaugurated the ‘Homestay Naga Wanderer’ at North City Centre, Secretariat Road, in Kohima.

The homestay is the first initiative of Artistic Naga Touch Pvt. Ltd, a project conceived by Onenienla Imsong, who is also commonly known as Onen Nenty.

Speaking at the inaugural programme, Theunuo acknowledged the hard work of Imsong, who has put in a lot of effort to make her dreams come true.

To ensure the smooth functioning of the facility, the proprietor has employed two Naga female staff members—a caretaker and a cook—to cater to the needs of visitors.

During the inaugural ceremony, Temjen Sempo, pastor of Kohima Ao Baptist Church, invoked God’s blessings and emphasised the importance of acknowledging Him in all endeavors, whether in politics, business, or other sectors.

Highlighting that the faith of the Nagas is deeply rooted in Christian principles, he stressed the need to serve people with love, generosity and good service. Sempo also prayed for the success of the homestay and expressed hope that visitors would find ‘peace and comfort and nourish their health from the food.’

Meanwhile, Imsong stated that she aims to provide comfort and home-like amenities to travelers from around the world and added that the humble beginning marked the debut of her venture in the hospitality ecosystem of the ‘beautiful state.’

Given the task as the brand ambassador of Nagaland tourism, she shared how she has been making efforts to promote and to push the tourism sector on the state.

Imsong said her homestay is ideal for travelers who want to escape the bustling noise of the city. She added that the facility would be suitable for office workers as it is located near the state’s Secretariat.

She expressed her gratitude to everyone who has helped her in setting up the venture, while she also encouraged young people to step out of their comfort zones and explore various avenues to promote the state.
