Home Minister's visit: Kohima police issues traffic regulation

Dimapur, Nov. 29 (EMN): In view of the high profile visit of dignitaries viz. Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Dec. 1 to Kohima and the Naga Heritage Complex, Kisama, the Kohima police on Thursday has notified all concern about certain strict traffic regulations to be enforced as part of the security arrangement. The PRO of Kohima police has ordered that there will be 'no parking' along the road from 3 Assam rifles Helipad to Raj Bhavan, Kohima via LCS building, TCP Gate, Classic Island and from Raj Bhavan to Kisama along NH-2. Any vehicle parked along the road on the above noted stretch of roads will be towed away and necessary action will be initiated against the vehicle owners. Only vehicles with car passes will be allowed entry at Gate No.-I/Main Gate of Naga Heritage Complex and should be parked at the designated parking zones: vehicles with Car Pass ‘Z’ (white with red background) and ‘O’ (white with blue background) should be parked in the area above the Bamboo Conference Hall. Vehicles with Car Pass ‘Y’ (white with green background) should be parked in the area inside the WW-II Museum Complex. Vehicle with Car Pass ‘X’ (white with light blue background) and ‘T’ (black with yellow background) should be parked in the parking area near Gate- II. Kohima police have asked all the officials and public to reach Kisama Heritage village by 2:30 pm on Dec. 1 as traffic movement will be restricted. Police have alse restricted the entry of heavy vehicles into Kohima at Inter-State Police check gate, Khuzama from 8 am till 10 pm.  Entry of heavy vehicles into Kohima town through by-pass traffic police booth from 8 am till 8 pm. Commercial trucks, except for those engaged with Hornbill festival related duties, have been restricted to ply in Kohima town from 8 am to 8 pm on Dec. 1. All loading and unloading of foods in Kohima town should be completed by 8 am, the Kohima police ordered. Traffic regulation for Statehood Day celebration  Kohima police has also issued certain traffic regulations to be enforced as part of the security arrangement in view of the 55th Nagaland Statehood Day Celebration at the Nagaland Civil Secretariat Plaza on Dec. 1. The police notified that only vehicles with appropriate car passes i.e. ‘A’, ‘B’and ‘C’ will be allowed entry to the Secretariat Plaza. However, parking outside the main gate of the Secretariat plaza will be free for all public. No vehicle will be allowed to be parked by the roadside from 6 am onwards during Statehood Day Celebrations at the following routes: from BSNL Telephone Exchange till Classic Island; from Raj Bhavan till M.S Classic Island; from M.S Classic Island to Secretariat Plaza via Razhü Point. Police also notified that heavy vehicles will not be allowed to ply from High School junction to Assembly Secretariat via Sanuoru subway during the Statehood Day programme. Besides, no heavy vehicles will be allowed to ply in Kohima till the programme is over and all loading and unloading of goods in the town must be completed by 6 am. Government employees directed to attend Statehood Day prog. Meanwhile, the state government has directed all government employees to attend the 55th Nagaland Statehood Day programme at the Secretariat Plaza, Kohima positively.
