KOHIMA, OCTOBER 25

Reacting to the twin incidents of bomb blast in Dimapur and Mokokchung which occurred on October 24, Home Minister Y Patton has said violence is not the answer for any issue and called upon every right thinking people to condemn such violence in the larger interest of the people of the State.
The Home Minister, in a release issued here on Saturday, stated that any misunderstanding or discontentment among different parties should be sorted out amicably “in the spirit of brotherhood”. Advocating for peace, Patton stated that resorting to violence would not only affect the psychology of the peace-loving citizens but also create commotion in the society. On the issue of the ‘quit notice’ between the NSCN (K) and GPRN/NSCN, Patton appealed to both parties to exercise restraint. He urged them to settle their issues amicably in the larger interest of the Naga society, stating, “we cannot afford to damage the hard-earned peace due to internal misadventures”.
Further, the Home Minister has directed the district administrations and the police to ensure strict vigil to avoid recurrence of such untoward incidents in their respective districts and to nab the culprits at the earliest.

Nuklutoshi condemns
Minister for National Highways Nuklutoshi has strongly condemned the bomb explosion in the residential compound of Lanukaba.
Talking to NEPS here on Saturday, the minister said the Mokokchung NPF Division had its general executive meeting in Mokokchung on Friday and he came to know about the incident of the bomb explosion only after reaching Kohima.
Condemning the incident, Nuklutoshi said as soon as he received the information, he instructed the Additional SP and the district administration of Mokokchung for a thorough investigation into the blast.
Asked whether he suspected any political angle to the incident, the minister said there might be some disgruntled politicians in the district trying to intimidate and create confusion in the minds of the people.
He, however, said all the Mokokchung legislators had a meeting at the residence of MLA Merentoshi Jamir in Kohima and unanimously resolved to forgive and forget their past differences before they proceeded to attend the general executive meeting of the Mokokchung NPF Division on Friday.
Nuklutoshi also said all the members of NPF Mokokchung Division at the Friday’s meeting had resolved to bury their differences and collectively work for strengthening the party and for the welfare of the people of the district in particular and state in general.

Blast despicable: NPF Mkg
The Naga People’s Front (NPF) Mokokchung Division has condemned in strongest term what it called the sinister act of the miscreant/s who resorted to the most despicable act of cowardice by exploding an improvised explosive device (IED) at the residence of the president of the Farmers Wing of NPF Nagaland at Kichutip Ward, Mokokchung town on the night of October 24. “Such dastardly acts of transgression, which is against all civility and the tenets of Ao Naga culture, should be vehemently condemned by all right thinking citizens,” Moasangba Jamir, president, NPF Mokokchung Division, said in a release today. He also urged the competent authorities to investigate into the incident and bring the culprits to book immediately.

DDCF condemns
The Dimapur District Citizens Forum has strongly condemned the grenade attack at Diphupar on October 24.
The DDCF appealed to all concerned to sort out their difference if any through dialogues and not through violence because violence never brings in peace and solution. “Violence begets violence only. With the onset of the Festival season the citizens of Dimapur need peace and unity among all,” DDCF president Joseph Lemtur said in a release.
