DIMAPUR — The Home department has informed that a mass social work in Kohima would be conducted on October 21 from 8 am onwards. The said social work would be conducted with the active participation of all government employees, Kohima Municipal Council (KMC), NGO and public in all the wards.

It informed that mass social work on roads not covered by the government departments would be carried out by the respective wards. In this regard, the deputy commissioner of Kohima and KMC are requested to issue necessary instruction to all the wards.

It stated that the councilors would supervise the mass social work in their respective ward jurisdiction and ensure maximum public participation.

It also stated that the departments would be wholly responsible for cleaning and disposal in their assigned areas. They would be responsible for any unfinished work even if it spills over into the next day. It added that attendance would be taken by the departmental heads and forwarded to DC Kohima on the same day for onward submission to the government.

The KMC would identify alternate dumping sites in advance and all dustbins would be taken care of by KMC.

The PWD (R&B) has been asked to coordinate with NHIDCL to demarcate the relevant portions for their work, while the DIPR would make arrangement for wide publicity through AIR/ Doordarshan/ print media as well as announcement through public addressing (PA) system.

It further stated that departments whose names do not figure in the list should send their staff for social work at the New Secretariat Junction to High School Junction.
