Dimapur, Oct. 5 (EMN): The deputy commissioner and chairman of district level coordination committee (DLCC) of Kiphire, T Wati Aier, inaugurated the hollow brick manufacturing unit in Kiphire on October 5.
Speaking at the inauguration programme, Aier remarked that Kiphire district was fortunate to receive assistance from the state government in various fields such as Agriculture, Horticulture, Land Resources and Cooperative departments at every level including villages. He advised the Lanya Society to take it as a privilege and work sincerely to bring laurels to the society, a DIPR report stated.
Aier also urged those involved in the project to compare the bricks with others and sell them at nominal rate to attract the buyers. He asked them to focus on their project and advised not to take it as a one-time project but as an eye opener for the society in order to avail more opportunity even in the days to come.
SRCS and CPO (ICDP), K Lirichum Anar, in his address, stated that the department of Cooperation is implementing the central integrated cooperative development project in Kiphire district through the national cooperative development cooperation. He informed that the Department has assisted INR 4 lakh for the hollow brick manufacturing unit and INR 9.50 lakh for pickup vehicle for transportation purpose to Lanya Multi-Purpose Cooperative Society Ltd., Kiphire.
He mentioned that the features of hollow blocks are compact design, trouble free functionality, negligible and easy maintenance, heavy pressure, easy working method and operation manual, and highly durable. Anar added that for curing time, it takes 28 days (approximately) including one day exposed, seven days in water and 21 days partly wet.
He requested the society to be pro-active in their business so that they don’t have problems repaying loans in time. Dwelling the motto “Coming together is the beginning, sitting together is the progress and working together is the success,” he advised the society members to work hard and be an example to other cooperative societies in the district.
The unit was assisted by the Cooperation department under Integrated Cooperative Development Project (ICDP), Kiphire, to Lanye Multi-Purpose Cooperative Society Ltd.
