DIMAPUR, MARCH 6
Dimapur, largely populated by different religious communities, today witnessed depressing moments for open ‘Holi’ a festival of colours as curfew continued in view of the volatile situation.
In the early hours today, friends and families of Hindu community were seen playing out in the town with few shops selling colours. Revelers in colonies also seen exchanging greetings and smearing hues on each other’s faces. Previous years’ Holi in Dimapur has always been a celebration with great joy and excitement even among other religious communities including Nagas. Holi festivities mark the beginning of New Year and it is believed the celebration ends conflicts and emotional impurities of the past. It is the celebrated all over the world.
