One person killed in hit-and-run incident in Kohima

Kohima, Sep. 21 (EMN): A daily wage earner, a saw mill worker, was killed on Sunday night at about 8:00-9:00 pm in a hit-and-run case in Kohima.

It was confirmed to Eastern Mirror by the Kohima Police on Monday that the deceased, identified as Kevethiyi Sachü, about 30 years old, hailing from Sakhabama village, died on the spot after being hit and run over by Dimapur-bound trucks from Manipur.

The police also stated that ‘after a chase,’ the three suspected vehicles were intercepted by the police. The drivers and handymen have been arrested and kept in police custody for further investigation, it added.
