History book on western Sumi released in Dimapur

DIMAPUR — A history book on western Sumi titled “Western Sümi Xüghili,” written by Rev. Phughoto Sema was released on Saturday by Shikaho Zhimomi, president of Western Sumi Hoho at WSBAK Mission Centre in Thahekhu village, Dimapur.

The author expressed that he was born and brought up in western Sumi area since 1957 and added that he had written the book after collecting information from the elders of western Sumi. He expressed hope that the confusion of the western Sumi people’s history would be made cleared by reading the book.

The book was published by Dimapur Publishing Company.

During the programme, the publisher, Hitoka, shared that writing a book is very difficult and he acknowledged the Reverend for the book, which would be a treasure for the Sumis. He expressed that through the book one would get to know how the Sumi forefathers have come thus far and sacrificed their life for posterity.
