Kohima, Sep. 14 (EMN): The fortnight Hindi celebration concluded on Thursday at State Academy Hall, PR Hill, Kohima. The programme was organised by Town Official Language Implementation Committee (TOLIC), Kohima, under the aegis of Indian Audit and Accounts Department.
The chief guest, Rupin Sharma, Director of General Prisons and Home Guards, spoke on the importance of language stating that it brings all the culture together. He said learning other’s language does not destroy the image of a person but a lifestyle that divides the people. ‘Language should not be used as a decisive force, but should use as a form of exchanging culture,’ said Sharma.

Sharma also requested the local media to introduce a small column so that students as well Hindi writers could express their views.
Awards were given to the winners of Hindi competitions in various categories and a cultural programme was also showcased by the students of Kendriya Vidyalaya Kohima, NEZCC and staff from central offices, Kohima.
