Our correspondent Diphu, July 18 (EMN): Members of different social organisations today requested the persons of Art of Living staying at Havarpi Tourist Complex, 5th Miles Diphu-Lumding Road, to vacate the building. The organisations members packed the belongings and others properties of the Art of Living assembled at one place in front of the building. It may be mentioned here that the 24 organisation under Hills Tribal League (HTL) have demanded upon the KAAC to cancel the land allotment to Vyakti Vikash Kendra India (VVKI) popularly known as Art of Living presently occupying the 62 bighas 2 katha 14 lusa of the multi crores built Havarpi Tourist Complex at 5 k.m. Diphu-Lumding Road. Convenor, Hills Tribal League Khorsing Teron, said the organisations on July 11 have met CEM, KAAC Tuliram Ronghang urging him to cancel the land allotment. According to Teron, the CEM Ronghang in the meeting denied of such land allotted to Art of Living at Havarpi Tourist Complex. Land measuring more than 50 bighas cannot be allotted by just giving an allotment order; it has to be passed in EC meeting or in the session, report stated. From KAAC side there is no such land allotment made to Art of Living, the CEM informed the members of the organisations in the July 11 meeting at his official chamber at HAAC Secretariat, HTL Convenor Teron said. However the local members of Art of Living Longbir Kathar and Mohon Taro have claimed of having the Council allotment order with them. If this is true then CEM Ronghang has misled the members of 24 organisations and people of Karbi Anglong in the name of giving land to outsiders, Teron said. Back to Havarpi Tourist complex, the members of different organisations went to Havarpi tourist complex at around noon today at requested persons of the Art of Living staying in there to vacate the tourist building. They collected the belongs and properties of the Art of Living and packed them all and assembled at one place. Mattress and blankets and other things were loaded in a truck to be taken to other location. Immediately the police team reached the spot and brought the situation under their control. The members of the organisations and local leaders of the Art of Living Longbir kathar and Mohon Taro where taken to Diphu police station to resolved the matter. With demand by organisations to stop holding of all programmes and activities until the order from CEM is there, the leaders of Art of Living Longbir Kathar and Mohon Taro at Diphu PS agreed that the Art of Living will take up no programmes and activities until an order from CEM is there, where re-stay order is given or an order to vacate the complex is given to them.
