DIMAPUR — The closing ceremony of the 75th platinum jubilee celebration of the Gauhati High Court, Kohima Bench, was held in the court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) in Kiphire on April 14.
During the programme, Phuleto Yeptho, CJM of Kiphire, highlighted some of the landmark judgments given by the Supreme Court. He stated that laws such as the Juvenile and POSCO Act are placed to keep the children from committing crimes and to help them, if they are victims of one, stated a DIPR report.
In the event, if the parents find out that their children are sexually abused and assaulted irrespective of gender, he urged them to approach them without any hesitation as they are always there to tackle the problems of every child by giving the right judgment to the victim.
Michael Aye, APP, in his message, stated that the reason behind the celebration of the platinum jubilee was to acknowledge the hard work of those persons who have sacrificed for the betterment of society.
“Kiphire is still a young district as compared to other districts and we still have to go a long way. So practically, all the employees who are posted here should be sincere and diligent in their work and duties,” he added.
The programme was chaired by Tsasela Sangtam, while a special item was presented by Leochum and a traditional folk dance was presented by members of Eastern Sumi Totimi Hoho.
