Hiekha lauds developmental works under TR Zeliang
DIMAPUR — Masang Hiekha, public relations officer (PRO) to the Deputy Chief Minister (Planning and National Highway), lauded the ongoing construction and developmental works under the direction of TR Zeliang on Thursday.
Hiekha, who was speaking as the special guest at the inaugural session of the Benreu Village Block Tournament (BVBT) 2023, underway at Lamcakkie, Peren, particularly mentioned the interlinking of roads not only in Peren but even the interstate connection with Assam and Manipur.
In his address, Masang extolled the legacy of the Benreu villagers as pioneers among the Zeliangs and Nagas, having shown the existence of a society thriving in unity, harmony, and fairness.
He encouraged the youth present to equip themselves with tools and knowledge to become agents of positive change and uphold values of tolerance, peace, and unity for the broader goals of prosperity and progress in the community.
Hiekha highlighted the astroturf football ground in Jalukie and invited players to participate in the valley tournament. Also, he declared the tournament open, which will conclude on December 30.
Namkwaheing Haining, secretary of BVBT, chaired the programme. The invocation was pronounced by Heigumbuing, pastor of Benreu Baptist Church, while Tingbangbe, chairman of Benreu Village Council, delivered the welcome address. Bamdi Thou, president of BVBT, said the vote of thanks.
Rampaudile and friends performed a special song for the occasion, and Namnabe Lungalang administered the oath.
