Here is why Blue by Temsu Clover should be in your playlist
Dimapur, Dec. 11 (EMN): Temsu Clover is the latest artist from Nagaland that has been making huge waves on the music scene in Nagaland thanks to her nonchalant yet warm, catchy and soothing tracks. She has just dropped a music video of her latest single, “Blue” on her YouTube channel today, a year after she released her debut single, “Confessions of a Bipolar Mind”.
The song from the outset starts with a mellow plucky ukulele accompanied by slow guitar strums and melancholic synth keys in the background which just screams “super chill”. Temsu’s opening line in the song, “She’s only dancing with the shadows,” perfectly encapsulates the theme of the opening shots in the music video where she lifts her hand to block the sun-rays that bleed through the leaves.
As soon as you think that Temsu’s soft vocals have taken you to a place of mellow love, forty-four seconds into the song, the neat drums and groovy bass lines hit you in a way that is pleasant and for some reason, we couldn’t help but bop our heads in agreement. The chorus is quite catchy and it definitely kept us hooked to the song from the get-go. The lyrics from the chorus, “Losing yourself is hard but so is finding yourself again,” particularly hit home every time we played it.
When asked what inspired her to write the song, Temsu Clover explained, “I have always drawn inspiration from the lives of other people, especially of the ones that are close to my heart. As an artist, this nuance from the perspective of someone else’s experience is something that intrigues me. In my opinion, people try hard to mask what they really feel but if you look hard enough, you will eventually figure out what it is that makes them who they are.”
Honestly, we couldn’t agree more about what Temsu feels regarding the dichotomy of human nature. Humans are complicated creatures but at the same time, they can be as brittle as they come. But the point is, Temsu wants to take the listener to a place of understanding where happiness is ultimately interwoven with melancholy just as love is interwoven with loss.
Nonetheless, Blue is a song that will endear to many who are looking for the next “chill” song for their playlist as they relax and unwind after a hard day at the office.
