Dimapur, Oct. 13 (EMN): The organizers of the annual 11th Music Awards of Nagaland have announced the nominees to the music awards. Native Trax Society, the organizers issued on Sunday an update to the media listing the nominees.

‘Aradhana,’ in Gospel, local dialects / Hindi category

Vishal Panday, a student of Class 9 of Don Bosco Hr. Sec. School, Kohima takes keen interest in singing and participating at various church programmes/ Gospel shows to showcase the God-gifted talent and in glorifying His name.

Prakash Kumar Bharati, a musician from Dimapur with grades in guitars, drums and vocals always had a vision to help those who are unable to afford music education. He formed Hosanna Music Ministry in 2017 through which he imparts free music classes at Asian Institute of Theology, Dimapur. He is currently working as a music instructor at T.I.M.E., Duncan Basti, Dimapur.

‘Abhishek,’ in Gospel, local dialects / Hindi category

Ruth Tamang Bharati, is currently pursuing a theological degree from Asian Institute of Theology and is also very involved along with her husband Prakash Kumar Bharati at Hosanna Music Ministry by imparting piano classes.

Temsumongba Ozukum is a self taught musician and singer/ songwriter. He started composing songs from the year 2015 when he dedicated his life to Christ. At present he is the worship leader of East Dimapur Ao Baptist Church (EDABA).

He bagged the award for best Gospel (Local dialects) song during MAN 2017.

Samuel Konyak from Mon is the vocalist of ‘Toxic Peace’ a progressive Folk Fusion Rock Band for which has also written many original songs.

He is a multitalented artist who is a music icon in his home town with a considerable fan following. Growing up in the 90s, he has a deep influence from legendary heavy metal and rock bands such Iron Maiden, Queen and Dream Theater.

‘Teimla Anogo,’  in Gospel, local dialects / Hindi category

A 47 years singer based in Dimapur, Bendang has been around in the local music scene for more than two decades. A well known singer who plays the acoustic guitar, he has three solo Gospel albums to his credit.

Bendang says he loves looking out into the audience when he sings and sees genuine appreciation and happiness on peoples faces.
