Hebron-I colony are football champions

Kohima, Jan. 15 (EMN): The 16th edition of Phek town inter-colony tournament-cum- Sukrunye with the theme “Forging excellence” concluded on Wednesday at Phek town.
Attending the occasion as Sukrunye guest, Dr. Kuvezochi Hoshi, general secretary (Central) NDPP, expressed regret over the ‘diminishing good values and traditions’ among the younger generation.
On the occasion, he said, “It is time to rethink, revive, preserve and promote the originality of our culture.” He also stressed on the need to reflect on good social values and to discard wrong practices.
Dr. Hoshi further called upon the people to maintain peace and harmony with one another. He complimented the Phek Town Youth Society for organising the inter-colony tournament for the youths to exhibit their talents and enhance their discipline and dedication to excel in sports.
Earlier in the programme, Vepatsiyi and Shetazo presented special indigenous tune, while PTYS advisor Neihite Akami led the programme and PTYS finance secretary Nuyi Hoshi delivered vote of thanks.
In the football final played on Wednesday, Hebron-I colony defeated Zion colony 3-2 to claim the champions title.
