Heavy rainfall expected in Northeast next few days
DIMAPUR — Heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected over Northeast India and Sikkim in the next five days.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) updated that light/moderate fairly widespread to widespread rainfall/thunderstorm and lightning with isolated heavy rainfall activity is very likely over the region during the next five days.
Isolated very heavy rainfall is also likely over Assam and Meghalaya from August 21 to the 25th and over Arunachal Pradesh from August 23 to the 25th.
As per the sub-divisional rainfall forecast for the next five days, Nagaland, Mizoram, Manipur and Tripura (NMMT) are likely to experience fairly widespread rainfall on August 22 at 51-75% along with Assam and Meghalaya, while Arunachal Pradesh is likely to experience widespread rainfall (76-100%).
While Nagaland, Mizoram, Manipur and Tripura continue to experience fairly widespread rainfall at 51-75% on August 23, 24 and the 25th, Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh are likely to experience widespread rainfall at 76-100% during the period, said IMD.
