DIMAPUR — Office of the chief medical officer (CMO), Kohima, along with the District Health Society (DHS), NHM, conducted a one-day training on National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) for Adverse Event Following Immunisation (AEFI) surveillance for medical officers, CHO, staff nurses, ANM, LHV and vaccinators in its conference hall on June 2.
The training was conducted with an aim to familiarise the healthcare workers with the universal immunisation programme (UIP) and adverse event following immunisation (AEFI) surveillance system at district and sub–district levels; to understand structures, tools and roles of different stakeholders in the implementation process of QMS for AEFI surveillance and develop district implementation plan for QMS in AEFI surveillance.
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=1]An update from the CMO office stated that Dr. Sheila Longkumer, SMO (WHO), and Dr. Longri Kichu from the UNICEF were the resource persons of the training.
Medical officers, CHO, staff nurses, ANM, LHV, vaccinators and DPMU attended the training.
