Healthcare workers brings Covid-19 message home in Phek

Dimapur, April 21 (EMN): In an attempt to effectively combat the novel coronavirus (Covid-19), healthcare workers in Phek are said to be carrying out various activities like sensitisation about the virus and personal hygiene demonstration in the district.

An update from the district media officer, National Health Mission, Phek, informed that the accredited social health activist (Asha) workers, the key personnel in reaching out to large groups of people, are playing an important role in sensitising the community on Covid-19 through house-to-house visit and disseminating the importance of social distancing, hand washing, personal hygiene, cough etiquette etc. through demonstration.

The Mobile Medical Unit team (MMU) and School Health Programme (SHP) team have also undertaken house visits to all colonies of Phek town for screening of people who are under home quarantine, the update stated. “This activity is carried out even at the block level,” it added.
