Health workers urged to deliver effective healthcare services

Updates from the department informed that during the meeting chief medical officers spoke about various grievances. In his speech the minister for Health & Family Welfare S Pangnyu Phom urged the doctors and nurses to be more dedicated and sincere in their work. He sought cooperation from the health workers to effectively deliver healthcare services and to ensure timely provision of all assured entitlements to beneficiaries, especially women and the physically disabled. The minister said that a weekly cleanliness drive should be initiated in all health units and establishments as part of the Swachh Bharat movement. Emphasizing on the problems and issues of the districts, the minister said that all the problems cannot be solved in a year but to address them one by one. He informed that distribution of resources will be done rationally so that people across the state are not deprived of healthcare facilities. Further, Phom said that the provisions in the service rules which were amended recently would be implemented to streamline the process of placement of doctors and to ensure doctors get equal opportunities, Phom informed Also, R Ramakrishnan, commissioner-secretary for H&FW emphasised on updating the department’s website. He informed that the biometric attendance system would be enforced within 100 days in all the districts of the state.
