Dimapur, Dec. 13 (EMN): Principal Director of Health and Family Welfare, Dr. Vizolie Z Soukhrie inaugurated the upgraded building for Regional Diagnostic Centre at IMDH in Mokokchung town and also inaugurated health sub-centre at Moayimti, Medemyim and Tsürang valley besides laying the foundation stone for a primary health centre (PHC) at Longnak.
Soukhrie inaugurated the facilities during his two-day tour to Mokokchung district on December 11 and 12.
Speaking at the inauguration of the upgraded building for the Regional Diagnostic Centre at IMDH in Mokokchung town on December 11, Soukhrie urged the healthcare workers for continued efforts to provide better service to the people, an update from the office of the chief medical officer (CMO), Mokokchung, stated on Sunday.
A district review meeting was also held at IMDH where certain key agendas were discussed in regard to providing better healthcare, pandemic management as well as requirements to boost health centres across the district.
On December 12, health sub-centres at Moayimti, Medemyim and Tsürang Valley were inaugurated besides laying of the foundation stone for a PHC at Longnak by the CMO Mokokchung Dr. R Chubala, medical superintendent of IMDH Dr. Medemmayang, DHFW joint director Dr. Z Khesheto Zhimo, and DHFW additional director Dr. Talitemsula in the presence of the principal director.
Speaking at the inauguration of health sub-centres and laying of the foundation stone for a PHC at Longnak, Soukhrie has sought the community support and involvement to fill in the gap that might arise in the management of the health centre.
The director-general of police (DGP), T John Longkumer, who was also present during the inaugural function of Tsürang Valley sub-centre, appreciated the presence of officials from the directorate of Health and Family Welfare. He further assured support/assistance on his behalf as well as of the community.
