Dimapur, May 4 (EMN): Plagued with the problems of encroachment in all government owned lands, state minister of health and family welfare, S Pangnyu Phom, warned of undertaking eviction drive against illegal encroachers at Dimapur District Hospital.
Pangnyu said this during a surprise visit to the Dimapur District Hospital on May 4. While reaffirming the government's stand to make the DHD free from any type of encroachment, the minister asked to stop all the illegal activities within the hospital campus with immediate effect. Stating that the government is working to initiate the action against the land encroachers, the minister warned that eviction drive would begin after completion of all the formalities.
The minister urged all the encroachers to vacate the illegally occupied site before the government and department takes its course of action.
He has also sought support and cooperation from the civil societies, tribal hohos, students’ bodies and NGOs to make the District Hospital, Dimapur, free from encroachment as the hospital belongs to the people. He strongly felt that no individual's interest should hamper in development and growth of the hospital.
Meanwhile, the minister expressed gratitude to the Medical Superintendent, doctors, nurses and the staff for rendering selfless services to the patient. Also expressing concern that the District Hospital is a healing place for unwell patients, the minister asked the staff to keep the surrounding clean.
The minister also inspected the School of Nursing, Dimapur, and assured all support from the government and department to uplift and develop the nursing institutes of the state.
