Health minister launches ‘NSACS Youth App’

Dimapur, Nov. 5 (EMN): Minister of Health and Family Welfare S Pangnyu Phom launched “NSACS Youth App” in his office chamber at the Nagaland Civil Secretariat in Kohima, on November 5.

An update from the Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS) project director Dr. K Vikato Kinimi stated that the app is a total package that features all youth related social media platforms that NSACS offers such as facebook, twitter, instagram, YouTube and website.  Another feature of the app is that it connects the users to two main information tools developed by the National AIDS Control Organisation (Naco) called the National HIV/AIDS Helpline 1097 and the NACO AIDS app.

With the launch of the app, NSACS would be conducting an online quiz competition for the Red Ribbon Club members enrolled in colleges across Nagaland. Similarly, such HIV awareness activities would also be conducted from time to time for the youth through the APP, it stated.

Speaking at the launching programme, Phom congratulated the NSACS for coming up with its first mobile app. He hoped that the youth friendly app will be a good platform to serve the young people and connect them with any HIV related queries or information and enabled them participate in HIV prevention activities.

The minister also urged the young people to download the app and be informed citizens on HIV/AIDS.

It informed that the app can be downloaded from google play store.

Dr. K Vikato Kinimi, NSACS project director, and Metevinuo Sakhrie, IEC joint director, along with the officers and staff from IEC and TI division were present during the launching of the app.
