Dimapur, June 28 (EMN): The minister for the Department of Health and Family Welfare (DHFW), Pangnyu Phom, called for ‘dedication, transparency, and accountability in the service to humanity’. He was speaking at the inaugural function of the annual general body meeting of the Nagaland In-Service Doctors’ Association (NIDA) at Convention Centre in Kohima on June 28.
Phom stated that the program officers at the department should work towards the welfare of those who are posted to reach interior areas of the state. He also spoke about the need of commitment for sincere implementation of the service rule that was presented during the function. Further, he assured to work for the welfare of the department and asked doctors and officers to cooperate.
The commissioner and secretary to the department, I Himato Zhimomi, appealed the gathering to re-dedicate, work selflessly, and prioritised their time towards serving the humanity despite all shortcomings.
Principal Director of DHFW, Dr. Meguosielie kire, appreciated the doctors for working relentlessly towards amendment of the new service rule. He added that, the new service rule will give equal opportunity to all the doctors in the state.
Nida President Dr. Khriezotuo Paphino, spoke about the newly implemented service rule of the department. He said that the rule aimed to give fair and equal opportunity to all its members. He also mentioned about the cadre review which have been processed to the government for approval and implementation. Dr. Paphino urged the members to work with dedication towards attaining the motto of Nida’s “Service to Humanity”.
The house observed a minute silence in respect of the doctors who passed away during the current year. Also, Nida will now be led by its newly elected President Dr. Ritu Thur, Vice President- Dr. Akum Jamir, Secretary- Dr. Ahu Sekhose and others.
