DIMAPUR — Office of the chief medical officer (CMO), Kohima, along with the district health society, conducted a reproductive child health (RCH) camp at Ziezou primary health centre (PHC) on February 23.
An update from the CMO office stated that Nguzilie Miario, member of village health committee (VHC), chaired the short programme, while a prayer was said by Neilazo Rossi, assistant pastor of ZBC, and concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Nevilie Theünuo.
During the programme, the CMO of Kohima, Dr. Leamnyei Konyak, urged the gathering to avail all the services and also take part in various group discussions for a healthy life style and also practice better health seeking behavior. He expressed hope that the villagers would derive maximum profit from the health camp.
The CMO also reminded the responsibilities of each and everyone in bringing about health awareness to uplift the health of the society in general and for individual in particular. He also mentioned about the target group where children and pregnant mothers are given priority.
Besides, he also underlined the role of VHC in initiating the village health and nutrition day (VHND) and to channelise for visit of medical officer to the village round the clock. He further stated that health camps are the platform for people to avail the service provided by the department of Health and Family Welfare.
It stated several services were provided during the health camp besides medicines and IEC materials.
Altogether, 78 residents turnout to avail health services during the health camp.
