Health department inducts 60 pharmacists

DIMAPUR — The Pharmacy Cell of the Health and Family Welfare department has issued appointment orders to a total of 60 pharmacists and also allocated their places of posting.

The appointment orders were issued during a two-day orientation-cum-induction programme for the first batch of pharmacists, who were recruited through the Nagaland Public Service Commissioner (NPSC) held at the conference hall of the Directorate of Health and Family Welfare in Kohima on February 27 and 28. The newly recruited 60 pharmacists comprised of 5 doctorates in pharmacy, 13 masters in pharmacy, 35 bachelors in pharmacy and 7 diplomas in pharmacy.

An update from the Health department stated that topics such as Nagaland State Pharmacist Service Rules 2018, Pharmacy Practice Regulations 2015, drugs store management, supply chain management system, record keeping, drugs and vaccines distribution and management system (DVDMS), introduction to various programmes under National Health Mission (NHM) were covered during the orientation programme.

The resource persons were Khele Thorie, deputy director of pharmacy and SCM; Rokokieno Linyü, assistant director of pharmacy; Thungchio Yenny, senior pharmacist; Puni Kokho, senior programme manager of NHM (Planning); and Kiyekhu Chopy, pharmacist (store in-charge).

It stated that      the welcome address was delivered by Khele Thorie and an exhortation speech was delivered by Dr. Akuo Sorhie, director of health.
