Health department discusses collaboration with Novo Nordisk Foundation
DIMAPUR — The Department of Health and Family Welfare (HFW) held a consultative meeting on Monday at the HFW Conference Hall, Nagaland Civil Secretariat, Kohima, with members of the Novo Nordisk Foundation from Denmark to discuss possible collaboration in various fields, including health programmes, education, nursing and medical education, environmental sustainability, food security, and nutrition.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Novo Nordisk Foundation, Principal Director Dr. E Motsuthung Patton, Mission Director Dr. Akuo Sorhie, and officers from the Directorate of Health and Family Welfare. It was chaired by S Tainiu, Additional Secretary of HFW, according to a press release.
Flemming Konradsen, senior vice president for Social and Humanitarian NNF, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to interact and gain a new understanding of Nagaland. He mentioned that he looks forward to collaborating to assist the state to the best of their ability.
The meeting also discussed at length the challenges faced in Nagaland and the areas of concern where the foundation can help for the welfare of the people.
The Novo Nordisk Foundation is an independent Danish enterprise foundation characterised as a non-profit organisation that supports philanthropic purposes. The foundation supports a wide range of projects and initiatives that promote human health and the sustainability of the planet.
