Dimapur, March 28 (EMN): Kohima District Health Society (DHS) conducted a health camp at Kigwema village council hall on March 27 with the former director of Health and Family Welfare department, Dr. Neiketou, as the special guest.

Speaking at the programme, Dr. Neiketou has stressed on the necessity of organisation health camps as medical treatment has become expensive and everyone cannot avail treatment. He added that organising such camps in villages are an opportunity to avail treatment without any expense, a DIPR report stated.

In the day-long camp, villagers both young and old with different types of disease availed free check-up and medicines. It added that an acknowledgment programme was organised on immunisation and ante-natal check-up (ANC), where prizes were awarded to those who have completed immunisation as well as to the best performing Asha.

The programme was chaired by Dr. Loziu Peseyie, medical officer of PHC Kimipfuphe, while short speeches were delivered by ADC of Kohima, Shaying Sheu, CMO Kohima Dr. Rupert Peseyie, and chairman of village council.

The camp was attended by 12 doctors, nurses and government officials.
