Kohima — ‘Heal Manipur,’ a prayer and fasting programme aimed at interceding for the healing, peace, and prosperity of Manipur state, was organised by the Chakhesang Baptist Church Ministers’ Hill Kohima (CBCMHK) on Saturday.
Speaking about the programme, Rev. Dr. Vevo Phesao, senior pastor of CBCMHK, expressed, “We are praying to a living God who sees all and will intervene at the right time. We hope for a return to peace and coexistence for the people of Manipur.”
He emphasised that the congregation prayed for everyone, regardless of their religion or ethnicity. The reverend appealed to the leaders of Manipur state to govern with wisdom and maturity, treating all individuals equally.
Rev. Phesao further called upon the leadership of Manipur and its conscientious citizens to engage in meaningful dialogue and pave a new path of understanding for future generations to emulate.
He mentioned that the church has been providing relief to those affected by the violence and will continue to offer assistance whenever needed. “We are doing our best to stand with the people of Manipur during this challenging time,” Phesao affirmed.
