Enforcement personnel of Kohima have confiscated a huge cache of illegal drugs from a person at around 1:00 AM on February 18 in Kohima.
Personnel of the District Executive Force of Kohima manning the Peducha check-gate were performing routine duties when they intercepted a Tata (MN 06L/5448) from which they found a suit case containing 15 packages of Spasmo proxyvon capsules One person identified as a Md. Manjur Alam, 37 years, of Kiyamgei village in Manipur’s Imphal has been arrested for illegal possession of banned Spasmo proxyvon capsules. Police issued a press release on Wednesday informing of the arrest.
The contraband drugs, in 150 boxes, were purchased for a sum of Rs.65, 000 from various pharmaceutical outlets in Guwahati under Assam on February 17, police said referring to a statement of the accused.
“He was transporting the drugs to Imphal for personal consumption and for sale to the customers,” police said.
