Diphu, Aug. 22 (EMN):
Principals of Deopani College, Santipur and Longmirjeng College, Dentaghat have reiterated their demand to increase adhoc recurring grant-in-aid of government-aided secondary schools and immediate provision for venture degree colleges in Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong in a memorandum submitted to CEM of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council, Tuliram Ronghang on June 21.

The memorandum mentioned that many venture degree colleges like Deopani College (Santipur), Harlongbi Velongbi College (Deithor), Langhin College and Senapati Tularam Memorial College have been established but the lecturers in these colleges receive equal salary (grant-in-aid) as those of junior colleges, which is not sufficient for them.

The principals of the venture degree colleges have urged the CEM to increase adhoc recurring grant-in-aid of government aided secondary schools in Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong at the earliest and provide adhoc recurring grant-in-aid for all venture degree colleges of Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong with higher salary and monthly fixed salary to the teaching staff and non-teaching staff of both the categories.
