DIMAPUR — Tuensang police has apprehended the headmaster of Holy Angels School, Tuensang, for allegedly molesting minor students.

Sources from Tuensang police station told Eastern Mirror that the accused was arrested and subsequently remanded to judicial custody on September 19 after the family members of the victims lodged a first information report (FIR) against him on the same day.

However, the police said the accused has been admitted in the Civil Hospital Tuensang for treating an ailment.

Meanwhile, the Changsao Thangjam Setshang (Chang Women’s Organisation) has vehemently condemned the inhumane crime committed by one VJ Jose, headmaster of Holy Angels School,  who allegedly “lured and sexually molested four minor students of his own school” on September 19.

It was learned that ‘this was not the first time the so called educator has sexually assaulted his own minor students in several ways’, stated the women body.

“Sexual assault to minors is a serious crime against humanity which will affect their psychological and mental well-being,” it said, adding that those “committing such crime to our children should be dealt in a serious manner such that no similar cases arise in the future”.

The Changsao Thangjam Setshang said every right-thinking citizen should condemn such criminal act, while urging the law enforcing authorities to book the culprit as per the relevant sections of law without leniency.
