HASSA sports meet concludes

The 2nd Highway Area Sumi sports Association (HASA) sports meet 2014 and the 1st Chekiye memorial football trophy under the theme ‘aim higher’ which got underway on 21st April concluded today at Ikishe village local ground 5th mile Dimapur.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, guest of honor Class I contractor Ghovishe Kiba related dream and struggle where he said that to dream is to struggle since one cannot keep dreaming but for a dream to be fulfilled we need to wake up and strive towards it as dreams are for those who have excitement to struggle and win.Citing the expression ‘early bird catches the worm’ Kiba stated that one needs to be in tune with the changing times and learn from each other to move ahead and come out of one’s cocoon to reach higher and expand the institution. Lamenting on the situation of Nagas where every one is after government jobs, he highlighted on great names that have made a mark for themselves earning respect and fame without the security of a government job by themselves. So he urged upon the participants to be an asset and not liability to the society.

With 14 teams participating from Dimapur, the final day saw match between Ikishe village and Kushiabill village where Kushiabill with sheer luck won with a penalty kick defeating Ikishe village by 7-6 and walked away with Rs 50, 000 and Champions trophy.

On the closing ceremony, the crowd witness martial art display by Assistant games & sports secretary WSSA Khetoho Zhimo’s team and curtain closer by Thilixu village Baptist Church Sunday school department.

Runners Up- Ikishe Village

Third place- Mishikito Village
