Dimapur, Aug. 17 (EMN): The NFR’s safety department released a safety handbook based on “Guidelines for Commissioner of Railway Safety Inquiry-2019” on Aug. 17 by NFR General Manager Sanjive Roy.
An update issued by the PRO of NFR in Maligaon informed that the NFR’s safety department has undertaken various tasks to improve safe train operations time to time.
The released guidelines is said to provide a check list which is said to be extremely useful in the event of a serious accident for arranging the inquiry. This handbook was said to have been formulated and prepared under the guidance of Pradip Kumar Hira, Deputy chief safety officer/ mechanical/ NFR.
A video conference on safe train operations was also said to have been organised on Aug. 16 at NFR headquarters in Maligaon where the general manager along with the Heads of all departments were present and all the Divisional Railway Managers of Katihar, Alipurduar, Rangiya, Lumding and Tinsukia divisions were connected by video link.
The general manager also discussed with the NFR Heads and DRMs about the safe, smooth and timely train operations.
‘The reason behind releasing the book is to make readers know about all the instructions, rules and regulations, inquiry procedures, check list of Commissioner of Railway Safety Inquiry and many more valuable and important knowledge and ideas of safety inquiry, which can be helpful,’ the update informed.
