Hackers threaten to leak ‘nude photos’ of Taylor Swift

[dropcap]A[/dropcap]s Taylor Swift would say, or in this case tweet, “Cause the hackers gonna hack, hack, hack, hack, hack…” The “Shake It Off” singer’s social media accounts got hacked Tuesday, and the miscreants claiming credit have threatened to release nude photos of the pop star, which she says don’t exist.
On Tuesday morning, two tweets went out from the 25-year-old’s Twitter account, telling her more than 51 million followers to follow users @lizzard and @veriuser (via TMZ).
The tweets were followed by similar posts to the singer’s Instagram account, all of which were deleted in minutes.
The accounts of both hackers, who claim ties to the hacking group the Lizard Squad, were soon suspended, but not before one posted a link to a Bitcoin account along with the message, “Will post taylor swift’s nudes when this btc wallet hits 3btc.”While neither hacker has been heard from since, Swift, who has been vacationing in Hawaii with friends, took to Tumblr to explain what happened.
“My Twitter got hacked but don’t worry, Twitter is deleting the hacker tweets and locking my account until they can figure out how this happened and get me new passwords,” she wrote. “Never a dull moment.”
As for those alleged nudes, Swift let Twitter know they don’t exist, no matter how much some ne’er-do-wells may hope.

As Gawker points out, the hackers also released unconfirmed screenshots of Twitter DMs between Swift and other celebrities like Nick Jonas. Over the holidays, the Lizard Squad claimed credit for attacks on the Sony Playstation and Xbox Live online networks.
