Global Solar Expo 2026 in Guwahati will showcase solar and battery innovations for North East India's energy future.

DIMAPUR — The renewable energy sector in North East India is set for its largest industry gathering with the Global Solar Expo – Assam & North East India 2026 and the co-located Global Battery Expo – North East India 2026.
According to an update, the two-day event will be held on June 18 and the 19th at the Maniram Dewan Trade Centre in Guwahati.
It will bring together stakeholders from across the solar power and energy storage value chain, including policymakers, utilities, project developers, EPC companies, investors, manufacturers, technology providers, commercial and industrial consumers, and government agencies.
Described as North East India's biggest expo, conference and awards platform dedicated to solar photovoltaic (PV) power and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), the event is expected to attract thousands of business visitors from across the Northeast, as well as West Bengal, Bhutan and Bangladesh.
The update noted that North East India is emerging as a promising renewable energy market due to abundant solar resources, rising power demand and supportive government policies. Opportunities exist in utility-scale and rooftop solar projects, solar-powered infrastructure, agricultural applications, rural electrification, floating solar projects, BESS, hybrid energy systems and EV charging infrastructure.
