Guv to deliver lecture in Chicago, Detroit

EMN Dimapur, October 23 Governor of Nagaland & Tripura PB Acharya is on a visit to the United States on an invitation to be the chief guest and deliver lecture at a workshop organized by the International Centre for Cultural Studies USA Inc., in Chicago and Detroit. The events are being held from October 22 to October 28. The governor is also the chairman of the North Eastern Zone Cultural Center of India’s north east region. The ICCS will highlight the life of the Native American community of North America. As part of the delegation, a 12-Member cultural group, the Nagaland Folkloric Group sponsored by North East Zone Cultural Centre, Ministry of Culture, Government of India, will also perform folk dances and music of Nagaland in Detroit and Bloomington. The visit is also expected to facilitate cultural interaction with the Native American community of North America in a bid to enlighten the people there about the rich cultural traditions especially of Nagaland and of the other north eastern states of India.
