DIMAPUR —The legendary hard rock band Guns N’ Roses have recently released their latest track, ‘Perhaps,’ which is now available on all streaming services.

Guns N’ Roses is experiencing a resurgence, delivering powerful, hard-edged riffs infused with the energy reminiscent of the 1980s.

The video for the track, a slightly trimmed-down version, features the band immersing themselves in the spirit of 1987, retaining all the energy they had harnessed in their timeless classic, ‘Appetite For Destruction.’

The video showcases the band’s performances on stage and their moments backstage at various venues worldwide. Original members Axl Rose, Slash, and Duff McKagan are visibly aged but continue to rock with intensity.

Set to a mid-tempo, piano-driven melody, ‘Perhaps’ captures Axl Rose reflecting on a failed relationship. He sings, “You pulled the gun that shot and crucified my saviour.”

Initially introduced with piano, bass, drums, and subtle guitars, the song rapidly transitions into full-fledged hard rock with a touch of heavy metal. This release marks a significant return to the band’s foundational sound since their reunion.

While the band put forth their four-track EP ‘Hard Skool’ in 2022, it consisted of unreleased tracks from ‘Chinese Democracy’ and lacked original compositions.

Hence, ‘Perhaps’ stands as the band’s inaugural original track since their 2008 album ‘Chinese Democracy.’ This album was perceived more as a solo venture for Axl Rose, given the absence of the other original members.

‘Chinese Democracy’ had deviated from the band’s classic hard rock and heavy metal approach, embracing an industrial sound characterized by synthesisers and electronic samples, which caused a rift with many fans.

Before their concert in Israel, the band had rehearsed ‘Perhaps’ during soundcheck at their Tel Aviv gig on June 5. Regrettably, the song did not make it into the concert setlist.

However, attentive fans gathered outside the venue during the soundcheck managed to capture low-quality recordings on their phones, which quickly surfaced online.

The impact of ‘Perhaps’ on Guns N’ Roses enthusiasts has been overwhelming, with accolades pouring in for the band’s return to their roots. Axl Rose, in particular, has received praise for reclaiming his earlier vocal prowess after some challenging years during the 2010s.
