DIMAPUR — The Poor Patient Fund Committee of the Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (PPFC NHAK) informed that the patient attendant guest house at NHAK, which was constructed and donated by Kohima Ao Baptist Arogo (KABA) would be available for attendants of the patients at a nominal rate.
The committee convenor, Dr. Pfukrolo Koza, and co-convener, Dr. N Azo Louis Kharutso, informed that the guest house was initially used to accommodate COVID-19 frontline healthcare workers. The committee has appreciated the NHAK, managing director and medical superintendent for giving the management to them. It informed that the funds generated from the guest house would be purely used for needy patients.
It stated that the committee has been working to provide financial assistance to the poor and needy patients for treatment at NHAK on the recommendation of the treating doctors on assessment of the patient’s needs.
It mentioned that 145 needy patients benefited through financial assistance in the year 2023 alone. Apart from availing various government subsidies like Ayushman Bharat (PM-JAY), CM insurance scheme etc., it stated that patients required assistance to meet their various needs during their stay in the hospital. It added that the funds were received through generous charitable donations from several individuals and families, NGOs, churches, unions and associations.
With many patients requiring assistance and to cover more individuals needing help, the committee has sought continuous support to help needy patients.
