Dimapur, June 18 (EMN): The Department of Commerce, Mount Mary College organised a Goods and Services Tax (GST) workshop on June 17.
BDeputy Commissioner of Taxes, Imosong while highlighting the about the important of GST, said GST is the easiest and fastest taxes system aimed at making India into a one nation, one market, one rate and one tax nation.
Superintendent of Taxes, Zulutemsu Longkumer, gave powerpoint presentation on GST and its benefits. He mentioned that GST was a “game changer for the Indian economy”. He explained the benefit of GST, which will led to decline in inflation, ease of doing business and eventually led to the decline in “black transaction”.
Inspector of Taxes, Dimapur, Sangru Aier also attended the programme.
The Programme was chaired by P. Anungla Imsong, dean of the Social Studies, invocation was pronounced by Suyim Longkumer while Sentinaro, IQAC coordinator of the College deliver welcome address and vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. M. Chuba Ao, Chairman of Mount Mary College.
Around 200 students and faculty members participated.
