Green pledge: KTC XI to play against Manipur ISL XI today

Dimapur, June 3 (EMN): Kohima Town Club (KTC) is all set to host the exhibition match between KTC XI and Kangleipak Pari, a team consisting of Indian Super League players from Manipur, at IG stadium Kohima from 5:30 pm onwards on Saturday.

This is the first of its kind in Nagaland, where a club, in collaboration with Kohima Forest Division will be organising an exhibition match to promote sports as well as creating awareness on environment, an update from KTC informed.

The exhibition match aims to promote environment awareness while giving exposure to the upcoming state players against the elite team of Indian Super League team from Manipur.

On the eve of the World Environment Day, around 2000 saplings will be distributed to the spectators and the players towards a green pledge.

Advisor for Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, Dr. Neikiesalie (Nicky) Kire will attend the occasion as the special guest. Ticket price for the exhibition match is INR 100 per person.

Mention may be made that the KTC XI team was selected from the recently concluded Kohima Super Cup 2022, while some of the renowned ISL players from Manipur are  Mohammad Nawaz, the goalkeeper of Mumbai City FC; Amarjit Singh Kiyam, former U-17 World Cup captain for India; Chinglensana Singh, defender for India team; Mohammad Yasir, who won the recently concluded ISL Trophy with Hyderabad FC and Bipin Singh Thounaojam among others.
