Green Club, Naga Terriers and DGP team enter quarters

Kohima, Sep. 15 (EMN): Green Club Zunheboto, Naga Terriers Jakhama and DGP team won their respective pre-quarterfinal match on Saturday and entered the quarterfinals of the ongoing Captain Kenguruse Memorial Football Tournament (state level) played here in Kohima.

In the first match played at the Kohima local ground, Green Club Zunheboto outclassed IGAR North by 2-0. Neikethozo Yhome (38th) and Botoho Sherhi (42th) scored two important goals to help the team enter the quarterfinals of the tournament.

With the win, Green Club will clash against Longleng District Club in the quarterfinal match on September 17.

At Tsiese Basa ground, Naga Terriers Jakhama trounced Tiyi Guardain’s FC Wokha 10-0. Tkhampei and Chingaha Phom scored four goals each while Haotinnang and Khuanjano added a goal each for the team to run riot in their pre-quarterfinal match.

Naga Terriers takes on Xavierite FC Peren in the quarterfinal match on September 17.

While Saku scored a hat-trick for DGP team to thrash Zunheboto Range Students Union 8-1 in the last pre-quarterfinal match.  In the match, DGP striker Saku scored three goals, while Ninga added a brace and a goal each from Lima, Lipok and Laungphun completed the rout against ZRSU team.  Kao scored the consolation goal for ZRSU team during the match.

DGP team will take on Nerhema Village FC in the quarterfinal match on September 17.

Green Club (Zunheboto) vs Longleng District Club at 3pm
