DIMAPUR — The Kitovi-led group of GPRN/NSCN announced the suspension of all formal agreements with the Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) led by S Kamson, accusing the faction of indulging in arson and acts that endangered civilian lives.
In a press statement issued on Tuesday, the GPRN/NSCN said it was shocked to learn that the ZUF (Kamson faction) had resorted to “hobnobbing with other Naga groups and engaged in arson,” endangering lives of innocent civilians in villages.
The group said the alleged actions were in violation of the merger declaration signed on October 26, 2019, by former ZUF chairman Raitu Chawang and current chairman S Kamson, as well as the GPRN/NSCN–ZUF alliance modalities signed on October 28, 2019.
It also accused the ZUF leadership of acting against Naga interests by unilaterally indulging in “communal, sectarian violence”, despite having participated in Indo-Naga political negotiations and regularly attended Working Committee, Naga National Political Groups (WC-NNPG) meetings.
The GPRN/NSCN, led by president RM Lotha and ato kilonser N Kitovi Zhimomi, said it was therefore suspending all formal agreements with the ZUF (Kamson faction), withdrawing its representation, and prohibiting the faction’s participation in WC-NNPG events.
The suspension will remain in force, it said, until the ZUF leadership takes as “Naga-centric steps,” it added.
