DIMAPUR — The GPRN/NSCN (Unification) with its designated camp at Khehoyi has claimed to be mandated government of the Naga people.

A press release issued by GPRN/NSCN through its MIP stated that with the active support and participation of Naga civil societies and churches, like minded national workers from NSCN (IM) and NSCN (K) came together in 2007 in response to the call and desire of the Naga people, resulting in the formation of GPRN/NSCN, also known as the Unification government.

It has accused its expelled former Ato kilonser, N Kitovi Zhimomi, of releasing fabricated and concocted statements to tarnish the reputation of the people’s government by floating a new party with just a handful of habitual defectors. It mentioned that Kitovi Zhimomi was expelled on April 21, 2024.

It stated that Kitovi’s hypothesis that Unification government led by five from the army wing and eight from civil wing was a figment of imagination of his deranged mind.

It stated that of the 170 members, who purportedly joined Kitovi-led GPRN/NSCN, only kilonser Honizhe Chishi, an elderly and frail man, was from Unification government who defected some 45 days prior. It added that the remaining individuals were public who were directly promoted to the post of kilonsers and tatars after being enticed, lured and seduced for high positions and ranks.

“As a discredited leader, Kitovi no longer has our respect. He is, therefore, advised to refrain from interfering with the operations of the people’s government. Instead of mocking the popular government, Kitovi would be better off focusing more attention to his precarious government which could fall apart at any moment,” the statement read.

It further advised Kitovi to learn from his previous mistakes saying that ‘leadership is not about advancing yourself but it is about advancing your people.’

GPRN/NSCN terminates cadre

GPRN/NSCN (U) has terminated its kilonser, Husheto Chishi of AK village, from national service allegedly for conduct of anti-party and anti-government activities. A press release issued by GPRN/NSCN (U) through its MIP stated that Husheto Chishi, who was under suspension, was found guilty of willfully breaching the party discipline.
