DIMAPUR — Kitovi-led GPRN/NSCN on Saturday held its 2nd phase oath-taking ceremony in the presence of 170 members comprising kilonsers, deputy kilonsers and tatars.
A press release issued by GPRN/NSCN through its MIP stated that the programme was chaired by Achumthang Lotha, chief secretary of GPRN/NSCN, while an invocation prayer was said by Hokiye Awomi, MRA kilonser, and the welcome speech was delivered by Hukavi Yepthomi, kilonser of Kilo Affairs, wherein he welcomed all the newly inducted members.
The party discipline was read by Nzanthung Lotha, secretary of national tatar hoho (NTH), wherein he urged all the members to follow the rules diligently.
A short speech was also delivered by Ato kilonser, N Kitovi Zhimomi, where he stressed on the importance of ‘Agreed Position’ and its impact on the future of the younger generation in the society.
“Thousand patriots have joined in the national movement and gave their life following the Plebiscite of 16th May 1951. It has been observed that the killings could not solve any purpose and the only way to solve the problems are through political negotiations alone, so GPRN/NSCN decided to declare cease fire with the Government of India (GOI) and was followed by political negotiations which ultimately led to the signing of the ‘Agreed Position’ on 17th November 2017 between GOI and WC, NNPGs and concluded on 31st October 2019,” Zhimomi said.
Also speaking at the programme, RM Lotha, president of GPRN/NSCN, encouraged all the newly inducted members to have positive moral character and strong determination towards the Naga political issue and its early solutions.
The oath was administered by Ebibemo Lotha, Speaker of NTH, followed by benediction said by Nochotole Yosa, chaplin (Tatar).
