DIMAPUR — N Kitovi Zhimomi-led GPRN/NSCN has strongly condemned the recent incident in Pungro town, wherein two of its cadres namely Major Sangti and Leacy Ati, were brutally assaulted at gunpoint allegedly by the NSCN (IM) cadres.
A GPRN/NSCN statement through its MIP alleged that the Pungro town commander, Capt. Gurung of the NSCN (IM), lured the victims to the Metumnyo festival with the real intention of assaulting them. It claimed that the cadres were severely manhandled and beaten nearly to death at gunpoint in their private residence from evening 8 pm on August 8 until morning at 2:30 am of August 9.
While condemning the brutal act, the GPRN/NSCN warned all responsible citizens to refrain from such evils as the society endeavours to live in peace and harmony.
