Dimapur, May 26 (EMN): The All Nagaland Government Primary Teachers’ Association (ANGPTA) conducted a meeting on May 23 in Kohima during which the group took a number of decisions concerning a number of matters related to their work.
During their meeting, the teachers took a number of decisions to address service-related issues including service regulations, matters concerning seniority and membership of members, updates said.
The ANGPTA issued a press release to the media on Sunday informing about the event.
During the meeting, the leaders of ANGPTA discussed new service rules, status of the association's recognition by the government, CANSSEA; delay of preparing tentative seniority list etc., the updates stated.
After deliberations, the press release stated, the group resolved to maintain a common seniority list for primary teachers in the department of School Education "so as to work according to the feasibility of technical proceedings."
On matters concerning the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, the association resolved that for inclusion of SSA primary teachers into the common seniority, NSSATA primary teachers 'shall pursue according to their convenience/proceeding with the support of ANGPTA,' the press release stated.
Likewise, the group decided to host its general conference during the last week of October or the first week of November 2019, the press release stated.
Primary school teachers who are yet to register with the ANGPTA are 'bound to pay the penalty along with the first registration fee and yearly membership fee collection,' another of the group's decision stated.
Also, SSA teachers who attended the meeting suggested that "since they are also a part of ANGPTA, therefore the district units and sub-units may collect the registration fees and yearly membership fees from them."
The ANGPTA will be informing the districts and sub-units shortly for the collection of annual membership fees, the updates stated.
"Defiance and non-cooperation to the association's directive may invite objection/obstruction in the seniority claim of the default teachers," the press release stated.
The association also discussed an issue of "ad hoc regularized teachers whether to count the date of appointment or the date of regularization for claiming the seniority."
The group stated in its press release that it has "resolved to work out this confusion amicably and reasonably basing on the anomalies found in the terms and condition of the regularization letter."
"This issue shall be brought to the notice of the government and the department for early solution. For this matter, it was also informed the ad hoc regularized teachers to bring forward more of such documental evidences," the press release added.
